Gardening by the signs of the zodiac

The first farmers were probably the first concrete astrologers. Their cultures appears to respond to the signs in the heavens and this has become a convenient way to ensure good harvests and provided a functional approach to animal husbandry.

Modern agriculture echoes many of these ancient principles.
Some seasons has the situation that seems to either help or hinder the growth of crops. Each season has presented various alignments in the constellations and these models evolve in horticulture as astrology, it is often practiced today. The following is a brief overview of the zodiac roots gardening by the stars and signs of the zodiac.

The size

It was believed that to ensure against infestations when the size of vine crops, trees and woody growths the following formula applied. The Moon should be complete in the constellations of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Sagittarius. When the size is during this period, plants will not suffer from pests or disease.

Grafting

Ancient gardeners were never believers transplant plants or trees when the moon is in decline or not visible. The reduction of moonlight or the total absence moon was seen as crucial to the success of propagation and transplantation of all types of vegetation.

Harvesting

When to avoid planting

Never plant any type of vegetation at Saturn is a fixed signs of the zodiac. This will affect crops and harvests limited. In ancient times this stellar alignment has been associated with famine and death.
